CERAMIC DENTAL BRIDGES

Fixed. Long Lasting. Affordable.

Ceramic dental bridges replace a missing tooth by attaching to the teeth either side of the gap with porcelain crowns. Dental Bridges are a good option to replace a space when the teeth either side of the gap would benefit from the strength of a crown. If the teeth either side are perfect, a bridge would be too destructive on those teeth and a dental implant would be a better option.

What is a Ceramic Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge is a porcelain crown that is attached to the teeth either side of a gap. It is fixed into the mouth and will not dislodge with regular chewing, grinding or speaking. The bridge is tooth-coloured and often looks and feels just like a normal tooth. As the bridge is attached to the teeth next door, they must be relatively strong and healthy. We will let you know if you are a suitable candidate for a dental bridge at your initial examination appointment.

Why is a Dental Bridge needed?

We don’t like to take teeth out because other teeth move into the space with the forces from your tongue and cheeks. This allows your teeth to move around and makes them harder to keep clean. A dental bridge is one option to replace the missing space.

How are Dental Bridges made?

Dental bridges are essentially a couple of crowns joined together. Therefore, getting a bridge is much like getting a crown, and is completed in two stages.

Firstly, the teeth either side of the gap are prepared by shaping them precisely so that the bridge will sit perfectly. This is similar to the first stage of a filling. An impression of your mouth is then taken and sent to a local laboratory where the new teeth are made. This takes 2 weeks, so a temporary bridge will be made for you to wear in the meantime. These tooth-coloured temporary bridges will be fixed onto your teeth and can be used just like normal teeth.

After two weeks, we take the temporary bridge off your teeth and cement the shiny new bridge into your mouth. Once a few checks have been completed, everything is done.

Do Dental Bridges hurt?

Getting a bridge should be no more uncomfortable than having a filling. They take longer, but you also get more breaks, so you will not have your mouth open for the entire appointment. In fact, you will be sitting upright in the chair for a large portion of the appointment.

How much do Dental Bridges cost?

At Northside Dental Solutions, the cost of a ceramic dental bridge is between $2155 and $3315. We use the highest quality dental ceramics and the crowns are made in a local laboratory to ensure quality and consistency. We also offer interest free payment plans to spread the cost your dental bridge.
