DENTURES

Affordable solutions to fill in the gaps

What are Dentures?

Also known as false teeth, dentures are the most cost-effective way to replace multiple teeth at the same time. Partial Dentures can replace one or more teeth, whilst Full or Complete Dentures replace all the teeth. Dentures can be made out of plastic acrylic or they can be metal-based. Both look just as good as each other, but the metal based partial dentures are much stronger, fit much better and last much longer.

How are dentures made?

Dentures are made by a Dental Prosthetist. We use Dentures At Clayfield on Sandgate Road. Traditionally, dentures are made between a dentist and a prosthetist. This makes it expensive and communication errors can lead to poor, ill-fitting dentures. We refer our patients straight to Dentures At Clayfield to cut out the middle man, make it more affordable and produce better results. For partial dentures to be successful, the remaining teeth need to be strong and healthy. Give us a call to see whether you can see Dentures At Clayfield straight away, or whether you should have your teeth examined initially.

Having your dentures fitted takes a number of visits (sometimes up to five or six) so that the denture prosthetist can accurately match the dentures to the shape of your jaw, your remaining teeth and the shape, size and colour of the teeth. There are no needles involved and very little discomfort.

What will it feel like to have dentures?

When your dentures are initially fitted, you will find it difficult to eat, drink and speak. Just like learning a new skill, it is amazing how quickly the brain teaches your cheeks, tongue and lips to move in a certain way to have you eating and speaking the way you used to in no time.
