I grew up on the northside of Brisbane but moved to rural New South Wales to study dentistry. Despite enjoying rural living, after a few years of cold NSW winters, I was very happy to back in the Sunshine State!

Working at Northside Dental Solutions is my dream job as I passionately share the same values and perspectives of the practice in believing that everyone should have the opportunity to access quality, affordable dental care. I am here to listen to any dental concerns or queries you may have, no matter how small or big. I like to give personalised attention to my patients and will strive to help you achieve your dental goals in any way I can. My goal with every appointment is for you to leave feeling comfortable, heard and happy with a quality outcome.

Growing up in Fiji in a family of healthcare professionals, I always knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Dentistry turned out to be my calling, as it allows me to truly connect with my patients and tailor my treatment to suit their needs. My journey began at the University of Otago, after which I worked on the stunning east coast of New Zealand. Moving to sunny Queensland brought me closer to my family, and to an incredibly fulfilling role at Northside Dental Solutions.

My goal is to take all the stress out of your dental visit. I enjoy listening to peoples’ individual stories, and working closely with them to achieve the outcomes they want. Seeing my patients leave happy, pain-free and confident in their smile is the most rewarding part of my job.

I’m currently working on a fellowship in restorative dentistry, to stay up to date on the latest developments in cosmetic work and full-mouth rehabilitation. I enjoy learning, and being able to apply my knowledge directly to give my patients the best possible standard of care is a privilege.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to health podcasts while cooking, getting lost in a good book, and exploring new food spots with my craft beer-loving husband. Priyena operates her own dental services business from Northside Dental Solutions.

As a Cairns local, I pursued my dental degree at James Cook University, where I discovered my passion for breaking down barriers to dental care. Although I had lived in regional areas all my life, I decided to take a chance and explore the bustling city life of Brisbane, where I quickly fell in love with the vibrant culture and warm community.

As someone who experienced some negative dental experiences in my childhood, I fully understand the anxiety and fear that can arise when visiting the dentist.
